Online gaming has been really "meh" recently. Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wifi is a huge disappointment. I mean, it's pathetic when you need to find ways just to make it fun. The lag I can handle at times but it's still annoying when your in a competitve match. If I'm lucky, I won't get an error code when I try to join a With Everyone match. And to top it all off, connecting to the Wifi service takesan eternity. I literally turn off my Wii Remote and check back 5 minutes later to see if I'm still trying to connect. I find myself having more fun playing level 9 CPUs.
For me, online gaming reached it's peak with Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the Xbox 360. Before that, my first online game was Smackdown Vs Raw. I had a blast playing with different created superstars online. SvR didn't have a ranking system until SvR 06, so I actually kept a notepad next to me and recorded my wins and losses with each character I used. I played other PS2 games online like Socom and Burnout 3 but I wasn't really into them as Smackdown vs Raw.
My next major online games were Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 and Mario Kart DS. I didn't play SvR 06 very much as opposed to the first SvR installment. It just wasn't as memorable as SvR online. The series has just been dying out for me since after Here Comes the Pain. Mario Kart DS was really fun with friends but random matches were boring as hell, mainly because of "snakers." And the stupid thing is, when I'm about to win a race, the person I'm racing with disconnects. Just goes to show people take too much liking in their online ranks.
Granted.. I hadly played Burnout Revenge, Kameo, Pokemon Diamond, Crackdown, Mario Strikers, Team Fortress 2 online so that's why they're low on the chart. Brawl wifi just sucks.
I'm hoping GTA IV and Mario Kart Wii, both coming out next week, will get into online gaming again.
